World Craniofacial Foundation

The World Craniofacial Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, is dedicated to helping children obtain the life-changing craniofacial surgery they deserve.

One out of every 500 births today has a craniofacial deformity. In the U.S. alone, over 12,000 newborns will need the specialized care of a multi-disciplinary craniofacial team. Not only are some children born with craniofacial deformities, many children suffer craniofacial deformities due to injury.

Today, we have the knowledge and technology to make these children look and feel normal, and it is now possible to achieve excellent outcomes in the treatment of even the most complex craniofacial deformities. To correct these deformities it takes the specialized care of a multidisciplinary craniofacial team. The team members include:

Unfortunately, there are too many children whose families do not have insurance coverage, or the condition is considered “aesthetic” and not life-threatening and coverage is not available. We do not want one child to go through life with a face that was not transformed because funds were not available to the family.

For the task ahead, support and participation is needed from all of us in order to transform the lives of those who need help. Through the gifts of generous and caring people who want to help change the faces of children and improve the quality of their lives, the WCF:

• Provides financial assistance with the secondary costs associated with medical treatment,
such as food, transportation and lodging
• Provides educational information
• Provides teaching materials to doctors in other countries
• Publishes quarterly newsletters
